Woodland Farms

Woodland Farms

Woodland Farms, a tree farm, was established in December 1982 with the purchase of 175 acres from the state of Alaska. During the spring of 1983, we cleared 100 acres. Our first planting of 900 Lodgepole Pine seedlings took place on May 30th of that year. Since then, we have purchased an additional 92 adjacent acres and have planted approximately 40,000 seedlings.

Great care has been taken to ensure that our trees and shrubs are extremely winter hardy. Our conifers come from seed sources in the Northern parts of the world. These regions include Scandinavia, Northern Canada, areas of the former Soviet Union, and Interior Alaska. Our deciduous trees and shrubs are also very hardy due to their seed origins. We are continually experimenting with new species and will add any to our line that meet our high standards.
